I never thought I would be getting to travel across the world speaking to a global audience, on a global stage.

For the last few years I have been on an incredible journey of highs, lows, and everything in between. I've grown up as a Christian that trusts in the Lord, but was never forced into a position where I had to 100% trust in God until I was fired from my teaching job. Since being fired I have had to get creative when it comes to earning a living and navigating life in general. I've contemplated silencing my voice and taking a backseat in this daily cultural war taking place in America. Yet every time I try to live a quiet life, I get dragged right back into the fight! It's something I love and hate at the same time.
One thing I try to tell people often is that I'm just an ordinary guy doing extraordinary things.
For example - what makes me so special that I get to speak to dignitaries and heads of universities from around the globe in Thailand? What makes me so unique that i'm given the opportunity to travel to Istanbul, Turkey to participate in a global conference? I'm a regular guy, doing regular things, living a regular life. But, from time to time I do some really extraordinary things when I feel the need to be a voice for those around me... especially in the education realm. The thing that I believe resonates with people that call on me to speak is the boldness and grit that comes with the territory i've stepped into.
Being willing to stand up, in front of powerful leaders that are committing evil acts, is something that most people are not willing to do or are scared to. Fear of being canceled, fear of being alone in the stance, fear of the unknown.. all of which are legitimate concerns.
HOWEVER. I believe firmly that regardless of what could happen, good people need to use their voice to combat evil and speak up for those who can't speak for themselves. There are people in this world trying to eradicate the American way of life, trample on the rights of Christians, and spread delusional theories as facts. (Particularly around the concept of gender!)
I'm not sure how things will go while i'm in Istanbul, Turkey. But, i'm excited to say the least. I just pray that I will posses the same courage I have been able to wield in the United States while in a foreign land. Great things to come! Stay tuned!!
